Description: SCP-XXXX is an ongoing series of anomalous analogue television broadcasts originating from an unknown source in Sonoma County, California. SCP-XXXX broadcasts replace existing broadcasts on the channel 2 bandwidth.

SCP-XXXX-A is a recurring figure in each SCP-XXXX event, appearing as deceased news anchor Walter Cronkite, with an appearance resembling that shortly after his death.

SCP-XXXX typically depicts various news or talk show sets with their normal hosts, who act consistently with their real-life counterparts until their acknowledgement of SCP-XXXX-A's presence, after which point dramatic deviations from their recorded personality are often noted.

Addendum: Recorded Instances

Appended below are all recorded instances of SCP-XXXX, labelled chronologically as SCP-XXXX-1 through -X.

Setting: The set of the now-defunct Wake Up with Al, a morning program that was frequently aired on The Weather Channel from 2008 to 2015. The screen graphics identify the date as 12/29/2014.

[The broadcast returns from a brief local weather report. The camera zooms to Al Roker and co-host Stephanie Abrams and the return music fades.]

Roker: Across the country, as Christmas spirit fades into New Year fever, the weather only seems to get more and more dangerous. Right now, we have a special guest to give you the tips you need on safe driving as the winter vortex sweeps the nation.

[The camera angle switches to show SCP-XXXX-A seated across from Roker and Abrams.]

Abrams: Thank you for coming on, Walter.

SCP-XXXX-A: Of course, Stephanie. It’s unbelievable to think that only a hundred years ago we had no idea that light existed. But now, as all of you at home know, light is all around us. You couldn’t get away from it if you tried.

[Abrams laughs nervously.]

SCP-XXXX-A: If I were a betting man, I would say that in another hundred or so years, we’d discover whole new—

Roker: I'm glad you're dead, you piece of shit.

[Silence for ten seconds.]

SCP-XXXX-A: A long time ago something fucked the earth like a cunt, and we’re the thing that came slithering out, born dead. It was something that’s—how to put it—behind, or maybe above, or perpendicular to light. Something like that.

[Abrams stands, and leaves the view of the camera.]

SCP-XXXX-A: You know, hiding in the spectrum. And maybe it’s hiding there so its prey doesn’t spot it. Or maybe it’s hiding from something worse than it is. I can’t say.

Roker: You're old fucking news. There's nobody left for you to warn. You're as dead as sincerity.

SCP-XXXX-A: I—I mean that. I can’t. That’s not a figure of speech.

Roker: Burn in hell.
