Item #: SCP-XXXX Level 3/XXXX
Object Class: Thaumiel Classified

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained inside of the Primary Finances Office at Site-55.

Description: SCP-XXXX refers to an anomaly affecting the Primary Finances Office at Site-55, the headquarters of the Foundation Finances Department1. SCP-XXXX consists primarily of two parts: SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2.

SCP-XXXX-1 refers to ~10,000 sapient iguanas. Physically, SCP-XXXX-1 and non-anomalous iguanas are identical, save for the addition of a substantial amount of grey matter to SCP-XXXX-1's brain2, along with the presence of miniature felt cowboy hats that cannot be removed with current Foundation technology. It is of note that included in this additional brain matter is a ventrotemporal occipital cortex, which non-anomalous iguanas do not have and has been correlated with proficiency in mathematics.

  • A complete lack of direct physical interaction with the Foundation Finances Department since its creation.
  • The department to operate at an above average level of competency.

SCP-XXXX-1 interact with computer equipment3, allowing them to fully operate the Foundation Finances Department. SCP-XXXX-1 are also seen interacting with each other and with SCP-XXXX-2. However, direct communication with SCP-XXXX-1 has not yet been achieved.

SCP-XXXX-2 is a sapient anthropomorphic chamaeleonid entity resembling "Rango", the main character of a children's animation movie from 2011 of the same name. SCP-XXXX-1 has perpetrated the identity of "Jonathan Depthford", the supposed director the Foundation Finances Department.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered when Researcher Temes Lesaar entered the Finances Department Wing in Site-55 by mistake whilst visiting. Of note, Researcher Lesaar is a sapient water monitor lizard.

SCP-XXXX-2 then attempted to keep Researcher Lesaar of discussing the existence of SCP-XXXX and itself via bribery. Researcher Lesaar refused and reported the anomaly to the Site Director. Due to the possible harm containment of SCP-XXXX could cause to the Foundation financially, SCP-XXXX was left uncontained for further deliberation.
