Who are the Little Misters?

The very first Little Mister was Mr Forgetful, with Salmon Corbette coming up with the original idea but cowriting the article with Dexanote. Although his creator was not originally named, Doctor Wondertainment was later specified to be the creator of Mr Forgetful, as well as the rest of the Little Misters listed in "Document 909-a", an addendum to SCP-909.

This SCP was followed by Mr Chameleon, Mr Hungry, Mr Moon and Mr Lost by the same two authors, and then the Tales of Mr. Collector series. This seems to be the first anthology series on the SCP Wiki, with each chapter being written by a different author.

This series was followed by many other references to the Little Misters in tales that followed, with TwistedGears (after posting Miss Heir to suggest a connection between the Misters and Doctor Isabel Helga Anastasia Parvati Wondertainment V, PhD from Djoric's Adventures in Capitalism series) resuming the posting of SCPs in 2015 with Mr Stripes and Mr Mad, with the rest of the original Misters being posted afterwards by various authors, most notably Mr. Fish, a man with a fish for a head. Since these SCPs were written after the Tales of Mister Collector by different authors, you may notice some discrepancies - the characters in the tales and in the SCPs are effectively different versions.

The basic premise of this first series of Little Misters is that they are collectible action figures that happen to also be living people, with anyone who collects them all becoming one of them, a whimsical concept with rather sinister implications. The Wondertainment focused canon What a Wonderful World notably has a different approach to the Misters, portraying them as a Wondertainment company band created by the second Doctor Wondertainment (Cornelius Młynarczyk) as mascots for Wonder World™. The rewrite of Mr. Brass by DarkStuff explores this version of the Misters in some detail, making it notably different from the rest of the series.

The second series of Misters started with Mr. Meme, posted in 2016 by Communism will win, as an in-universe parody of the Little Misters that was also the debut of the Gamers Against Weed group of interest. Rather than vague descriptors, these Misters each have very specific titles referencing internet culture, establishing the group that created them as a bunch of anomalous shitposters. However most of the Misters articles also seriously explore the implications of the characters' abilities, as well as the interpersonal relationships within the Gamers Against Weed community. The most notable of them is Ms Mad About Video Games, AKA Heather Mason], a girl with a TV for a head. Rather than just being a joke character, stories written about her explore her relationship with the lesbian couple that raised her, and she is one of the two main characters in the Void Dancer series.

This second series of Little Misters was eventually (almost) completed - at time of writing, only Mr. Finale remains unwritten - but it was also followed by many more Misters, some standalone (often as parodies of the concept), but others as part of new series, including Kothardarastrix's Amazing Alliterative Animals by Dr Wondertainment, and Uncle Niolini's Tiny Señor by Professor Funtastic, his Spanish-speaking would-be rival. There are also two series of New Misters by Dr Wondertainment, one starting with https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/mr-prologue Mr. Prologue and followed by a new Mr. Fish, and another starting with Mr. Leaf. At two of writing, these series are currently incomplete.

This isn't even mentioning the many Misters created by writers on other branches, who have started series of their own inspired by the Dr Wondertainment, Gamers Against Weed, or even Professor Funtastic series, but we've tried our best to list them all above, even when no English translations are available.

It seems like the continuing appeal of the Misters is that the concept is open to endless innovation, with people being free to contribute to existing series or to start new series of their own, while also imposing interesting creative constraints on authors that write for each series, with each name on each list providing a limited scope within which to write an anomalous character. While it's a good idea to ask the original author for feedback before contributing to their series, part of the fun of a new series of Misters seems to be allowing other to take inspiration from words another author has written, to then develop that idea into an original work that could surprise even that original author.

Or maybe we all just like collectibles!
