Special Containment Procedures: All known supplies of SCP-XXXX are contained in a secure bio-hazardous containment locker in Site-96. Foundation web crawlers are to search for potential sellers of the product and shut them down, along with any related advertising or online advocacy.

All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to have space resistant balloons of adequate size placed around them and monitored in case of any increase or decrease in altitude.

Foundation agents are to be inserted into all major gaming conventions to search for evidence of SCP-XXXX usage, and shut it down before a repeat to The Playpen Incident incident unfolds.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the designation given to a supply of anomalous topical medication1. SCP-XXXX advertises itself as being able to reduce an individual's weight dependent on how often they partake in the playing of electronic games. When an individual applies SCP-XXXX to their skin, they become an instance of SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX-1 instances are able to maintain homeostatis regardless of environmental factors such as access to food or oxygen. SCP-XXXX-1 also becomes fixated on acquiring and playing video games. As soon as an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 comes into physical contact with a computer or video game console, the device and all of its vital components, including those connected via wireless signal, become an instance of SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 instances demonstrate full functionality without the need for a constant intake of electricity.

Once an SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 instance are together, SCP-XXXX-1 will begin playing a seemingly random competitive or score-based game on SCP-XXXX-2. As SCP-XXXX-1 plays and progresses further in the game, they will lose weight over time. This change is not biological, as the size of SCP-XXXX-1 remains constant. Rather, SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 will be decreasingly affected by gravity. Once SCP-XXXX-1 has reached the point in the game where their weight is negligible, they will become buoyant, and begin to float upwards along with SCP-XXXX-2. At this point, no known method is able to slow SCP-XXXX-1's ascent.

Discovery - The Playpen Incident:
On August 15th, 2019, a video game tournament held in a convention center in Boston known as "The Playpen" took place. Through currently unknown methods, manufacturers of SCP-XXXX made contact with the hosts of the event and signed on as a sponsor. Before the tournament began, nearly every individual in the hall was provided with a free sample of SCP-XXXX. The event, which was streamed live on various social media platforms, came under the Foundation's radar immediately after reports by several individuals of people floating. The Foundation sent Mobile Task Force Gamma-Rho-Upsilon ("The Let's Players") to discover and detain the anomaly, and lock-down the event. Below is a collective log of civilian accounts, as well as reports by MTF-γρυ.

15-8-19 15:04:16
The Foundation is alerted to numerous police reports of individuals hovering in mid-air. At the Playpen, witnesses recall at least 10 individuals floating up to half a meter above the ground.

15-8-19 14:34:26
MTF arrives at The Playpen. Estimated 30 individuals are floating more than a meter above the ground. Unaffected attendees become agitated. All entrances and exits are locked.

15-8-19 15:22:49
Estimated 190 individuals are floating more than seven meters above the ground. MTF calls for backup in their efforts to restrain rowdy members of audience.

15-8-19 15:38:26
Estimated 1700 individuals are floating close to the ceiling of the convention center. Backup arrives, but is unable to calm the crowd.

15-8-19 16:04:01
Estimated 8000 individuals are floating over the city of Boston. Foundation efforts begin to prevent spread of this information.

As a follow up to The Playpen Incident, online sightings of any SCP-XXXX-1 instance were taken down, and an auditory amnestic agent was administered to the city of Boston and its neighboring towns via Foundation satellites.
