Item #: SCP-4XXX |
Level 2/4XXX |
Object Class: Safe |
Classified |
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard containment locker. Testing conducted with SCP-XXXX must be performed in a standardized testing unit with at least one Level-3 or higher personnel supervising the tests proponent as well as subject. During testing, SCP-3349 is to be kept a minimum of one meter away from the test subject.
As a precautionary measure to ensure the wellbeing of all personnel, object SCP-3349 is not to be viewed or handled by those who have: been evaluated and diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, been evaluated then monitored for potential development of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or received an assignment to anything Foundation-related that required a redaction within their assignment history.
Procedural Addendum: As individuals subjugated to the anomalous properties of item SCP-XXXX constitute an extension of SCP-XXXX itself, procedural detainment for a period lasting no longer then 24 hours may be instated for the subject and proponent in the aftermath of any exposure to SCP-XXXX. The basis of why personnel are detained and the length of detainment are at the discretion of the secondary witness to SCP-XXXX testing or any Level-3 or higher personnel expressing concern.
Description:
SCP-3349 is a small ceramic figurine of a stereotypical homeless individual, although it is largely stylized, comical, and painted in bright pastel colors. The figurine is mounted on two pedestals: a cubic wood pedestal, followed by a cylindrical black marble pedestal. A brass plaque, with the phrase “The Littlest Browbeater” etched on it, is mounted on the marble pedestal. Directly viewing 3349 invokes heavy feelings of guilt, shame, and regret, and subjects describe experiencing quasi-realistic memories of "the worst moments of their lives". SCP-3349's effects differ by exposure time, the subject's self-reported moral code, as well as the memories of the subject.
Item History:
SCP-3349 was discovered in ███ █████, California on 5/█/2018 in a small tchotchke store that sold homemade items bought from various wholesalers throughout the country. Attempts have been made to further trace the origin of the object, so far without success.
The object eventually came to the attention of Agent Kabasic after a local rumor regarding SCP-3349 was told to her. After Kabasic saw 3349's anomalous properties, she notified the Foundation and SCP-3349 was confiscated and replaced with a convincing replica. 3349's properties were subsequently confirmed with testing and contained properly.
Following Incident 3349-A, SCP-3349's marble pedestal has been separated from the rest of 3349. The pedestal does not appear to contain any anomalous properties, but it will nonetheless still be stored with SCP-3349.

◌ TESTING
◌ GOI/POI
◌ PERSONNEL
REQUEST: Permission to change documentation of SCP-3349.
REASON OF REQUEST: The current document is outdated and does not represent SCP-3349's current effects. Currently, SCP-3349 is documented as a potential threat. I believe 3349 is more than that, that SCP-3349 should be classified differently. 3349 can be and is beneficial for anyone who sees it. It pushes you to see past your mistakes and to be the better person. It did for me. I'm sure it did for the others, too.
REQUEST FILED BY: Junior Researcher Phillip Shipherd
REQUEST APPROVAL/DENIAL: [ DENIED - 10/12/18 ]
REASON OF APPROVAL/DENIAL: SCP documentation is factual, not objective. The documentation will only be updated to include SCP-3349's new appearance.
