Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: At this time it is unfeasible to physically contain SCP-XXXX. The following containment procedures are related to the quarantining of information about the object and have been deemed sufficient to protect normalcy.

SCP Foundation web crawler VOYEUR.io has been created to monitor the online presences of theatrical performers, dance troupes, comedic improv, and other similar performance-based ensemble groups consisting of at least eight members. Each of these ensembles is to be classified as a subset of SCP-XXXX-A for the purposes of monitoring. In the event of missing person reports or prolonged periods of social media blackout for groups of SCP-XXXX-A lasting at least 48 hours, Foundation resources will be tagged for manual examination.

Should their disappearance be confirmed, Foundation field teams are to wait at the site of the group's last known performance in order to intercept SCP-XXXX-A. Upon remanifestation, all members are to be interviewed, amnestized, and supplied with a cover story before being returned to the general population.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an ontological being capable of manipulating space and matter. This entity resembles a middle-aged human male of Greek descent, with the exception that their features have been scaled to match their approximate height of 10 meters. This entity is well muscled and physically fit, and is clad in robes consistent with idealizations of Classical Era Greece. The precise location of SCP-XXXX is currently unknown and all attempts to triangulate its position have, to date, failed. At this time, it is believed that SCP-XXXX operates its own extra-dimensional space which connects to the prime reality.

At intervals as short as 72 hours and as long as 90 days, SCP-XXXX will summon a single performing arts ensemble into its extra-dimensional space. Affected individuals invariably report having been either preparing for or in the act of performing a dress rehearsal for an upcoming show when they are overtaken by a bright light. Upon waking up, instances of SCP-XXXX-A find themselves in an opulent and intimate theater setting of neoclassical design. SCP-XXXX will be present as the sole member of the audience and will direct SCP-XXXX-A to perform their current work just as they had intended. Despite the size and motif of the extra-dimensional theater, performers have noted that the stage and associated spaces contain all of the necessary costumes, props, and set pieces required for their performance.

Additionally, the theater facilities are staffed by an unknown number of cyclopean humanoids designated as SCP-XXXX-1. These humanoids appear capable of understanding speech and following instructions related to the performance and otherwise perform all expected duties of a theater's stage crew. Although incapable of communicating vocally with SCP-XXXX-A, instances of SCP-XXXX-1 appear to utilize a crude, guttural language in order to coordinate work with each other including the operation of light and sound systems or the ad hoc playing of instruments as required by a performance.

At the conclusion of SCP-XXXX-A's performance, SCP-XXXX offers candid and personalized feedback to each member of the ensemble before returning them to their previous location. When questioned about the feedback they received, performers have universally noted that SCP-XXXX stated it was unmoved by their portrayal, found it to be 'flat', felt nothing, or was otherwise disaffected emotionally. The candor of this feedback does not appear to deviate and does not appear to otherwise be in line with the critical reception a performer or the ensemble may have received by non-anomalous evaluation.

In all recorded instances of interaction with SCP-XXXX, a single member of the performing ensemble has been ritualistically castrated at the conclusion of the performance. Due to the psychological and physical trauma associated with such an act, data on the mental state of the victims is still being collected, however, it is believed that affected individuals will permanently hold an aversion to discussing their trauma or their condition regardless of the use of amnestics.
