Internal combustion cat

Item #:* SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be housed in a humanoid containment cell at Site-23, heated to a constant temperature of at least 27 degrees Celsius. To facilitate thermal management, the floor of the containment chamber has been fitted with a lattice of aluminum pipes which are capable of passing through water heated up to a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius. Standard flooring in the room has been replaced with 'polished screed'1 at a thickness of 75mm for maximum thermal conductivity.

Thermal imaging for the room containing SCP-XXXX is to be checked every twenty minutes. Should the internal temperature of SCP-XXXX drop below 90 degrees Celsius, floor temperature and ambient air temperature are to be raised in order to compensate. Additional measures including the use of heated blankets and hot water bottles may be applied as needed in order to increase the temperature of SCP-XXXX-1 and do not require approval as an emergency response.

If the internal temperature of SCP-XXXX drops below 80 degrees Celsius, the general alarm is to be sounded and all non-essential personnel are to be evacuated from the wing containing SCP-XXXX.

Every 8 hours, one D-class personnel is to be provided to SCP-XXXX and is then designated as SCP-XXXX-1. After this transition, the outgoing instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is to be debriefed and returned to the Site's regular D-class population. Candidates for use as SCP-XXXX-1 must self-identify as enjoying the company of cats, must score at least a 7.0 on the Animal Empathy Test, and must not be allergic to pet dander.

The Ethics Committee has approved the rewarding of shifts as SCP-XXXX-1 in the event of good behavior, as well as the consideration of Level 2 and Level 3 personnel for this role by request, should they otherwise meet the requirements necessary for the anomaly.
