Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard humanoid containment chamber filled with salt water, within the Safe Class Wing of Site-92. It is to be fed on a diet of peas and deceased blood-worms no more than 3 times a day.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 1.7 m long specimen of Salmo salar with two human legs in place of its frontal fins. SCP-XXXX also seems to be able to understand and speak fluent English, with an American accent. When communicating, SCP-XXXX does not seem to move it's mouth, and it is believed that the method by which SCP-XXXX achieves speech is not completely biological in nature. Despite this, research is still inconclusive, and further studies are currently being done on how SCP-XXXX obtains this effect. SCP-XXXX is able to breathe salt water through it's gill orifices in a similar fashion to non anomalous members of it's species, and is incapable of sustaining itself on land.

Addendum: SCP-XXXX was recovered within the basement of Johnathan Young, a 54 year retired marine biologist, living within a suburb in Brooklyn, New York. Officers were called to the scene after a neighbor reported sounds of screaming coming from the residence.

First responders to the scene quickly discovered the corpse of Johnathan within a large, human sized tank, also containing SCP-XXXX. Upon this discovery, the Foundation was notified, and SCP-XXXX was brought into Foundation custody. Of note, along with SCP-XXXX, several journal entries (presumably written by Johnathan Young) were discovered at the scene. A log of these entries can be found below:
