A hallway of SCP-#### after hours
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-#### will be monitored 24 hours a day by foundation personnel. No personnel are allowed to enter the facility between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 unless given express permission from two (2) level 3 personnel. Every day, floors 2 through 4 are to be inspected. If any storage units are found to be open, unlocked, or there are changes in the area around the storage unit, personnel on watch are to send this information immediately to head researcher of SCP-####, Dr. Lee.
In an effort to maintain cover, any personnel on watch will manage the rental office between 06:00 and 22:00. Should any civilians enter the rental office seeking to rent a storage unit, they are to be informed that there are currently no units available. They are then to be directed to the nearest competitor. Alternatively, should a civilian enter the rental office and use the phrase, "I might contact Dusty," during conversation, they will also be told that no units are available. However, before they are sent away personnel are to request the individual’s name, contact number, and the nature of what they plan on storing. This information is not to be obtained through any forceful means. If the individual refuses, no further steps will be taken. If instead the individual gives the information freely, their information is to be sent to Dr. Lee for further investigation.
Description:
Located in ██████, Oregon, SCP-#### is a 4 story storage facility with signage for the company ██████████. The building is rectangular on the outside with approximately 20,000 square feet per floor from its exterior dimensions. SCP-####’s anomalous properties manifest on floors 2 through 4. These floors are hyperbolic spaces. This was discovered after attempting to measure the internal dimensions. It was found that the space had significantly more square footage than what the external walls would allow for. Additionally, six (6) separate walls were identified within the space along the perimeter. All walls connect to their neighboring walls at a 90 degree angle.
On each floor, a variety of storage units are incorporated into the structure of the building. This creates a complex maze of interconnecting hallways and aisles. Fortunately, navigation throughout the facility is still fairly easy due to each unit being numbered according to their floor and location, e.g. 4-0031. The unit numbers are sequentially ordered, and the unit closest to the elevator always starts at #-0001.
The door of each storage unit appears to be painted corrugated steel, however, the material of the door is currently unknown as it is highly resistant to most forms of damage (A drill, angle grinder, and jack hammer were all used to minimal effect). The walls of the building and units have the appearance of standard construction drywall painted white. It is likely that they are made of a similar material to the unit doors, as destructive attempts to breach them have met with similar failures. A small chunk of wall is currently being analyzed for its material properties.
During standard operating hours, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor hallways are lit by anomalous means. No source of the light can be found. This lighting turns off at 22:00 precisely. During off hours, it is still possible to enter the facility. Any individual entering the facility at this time will experience an immediate sense of dread. If the individual stays inside for at least one (1) hour, vocalizations will be heard expressing a variety of statements telling the trespassing individual to leave. If the individual stays another hour after the vocalizations manifest, an entity, designated SCP-####-A, will appear and begin to hunt the individual.
SCP-####-A is able to change its shape freely, but will typically take on the shape of a humanoid roughly 2m tall with knee length arms ending in three sharp claws. No matter what form it takes, SCP-####-A is always the same white color as the walls of the facility. If the trespassing individual does not leave the building once SCP-####-A manifests, the entity will either tear the victim apart with its claws, or will drag them into the walls of the building. Regardless of the method used to kill the victim, by lights on at 06:00 any bodies and blood left behind is absorbed into the building through whatever surfaces they are touching.
Addendum ####-1:
On ██/██/2021, shortly after the discovery of SCP-####, Dr. Lee received a call from a person identifying themself as “Mr. Eamon.” It is unclear how Mr. Eamon was able to reach the doctor as his phone was off at the time of the call.
Phone conversation between Dr Lee, head researcher of SCP-####, and “Mr. Eamon” recorded via a Foundation security camera
[Dr. Lee is seen writing notes during standard observation of SCP-####. Suddenly he stops and pulls his phone from his pocket, staring at it in confusion. The doctor hesitates, then answers the call and sets it to speaker phone]
Dr. Lee: Um…hello? Who is this?
Mr. Eamon: Good afternoon Dr. Lee, I am electing to go by Mr. Eamon at the moment. I have learned that you’ve taken over management at my facility, is that correct?
Dr. Lee: The names a little on the nose isn’t it? But yes, if you’re referring to SCP-####, then that is correct. The facility is currently under my supervision.
Mr. Eamon: Excellent. I was calling today as I had heard about your recent acquisition. We at Marshall, Carter, and Dark have had cordial interactions with your Foundation in the past so I wanted to personally warn you about problems new management may run across.
Dr. Lee: I…appreciate that, I suppose. What kind of issues?
Mr. Eamon: No doubt you’ve already begun exploring the facility and have found the space to be…well, I believe the term you dinosaurs use is “Non-euclidean.”
[Mr. Eamon is heard chuckling]
Mr. Eamon: Our tenants in the upper levels have a wide assortment of things in storage. Many of which I’m quite sure you would love to put under your own lock and key. We are willing to sell you the information to access all the spaces, but I assure you it will not be cheap. We simply must recoup our losses since you’ve taken over.
Dr. Lee: I will have to put in a request. I-
Mr. Eamon: Yes, you have your bureaucracy. There’s one last thing I wanted to mention though.
Dr. Lee: Yes?
Mr. Eamon: I know how much you all talk about dying in the dark. In this facility I would strongly urge you to consider avoiding it for once. From my understanding, it’s a very unpleasant way to go. And if it eats too much, we’re not entirely sure what will happen.
[Call is abruptly ended. A phone number is visible burned onto the screen of the doctor’s phone]
Addendum ####-2:
Exploration Log
Date: ██/██/2021
Personnel: D-37431
Task: To remain within SCP-#### after 22:00 for as long as possible
Result:
D-37431 was equipped with a flashlight, a body camera, and a days worth of supplies At 21:45 he was directed to enter the facility and take the elevator to any of the upper floors. D-37431 chooses to take the elevator to the 3rd floor and begins to walk through the hallways. At 22:00, the lights in the facility go out as expected. D-37431 utilizes his flashlight to continue, although he expresses a strong desire to leave. After being told he must stay or be terminated, D-37431 continues moving through the facility. At 23:00, vocalizations began telling the D-Class to leave. Vocalizations consisted of a variety of phrases, but “Please exit the building,” and “We are currently closed. Security is on their way to remove you from the premises,” were the most common ones heard. D-37431 once again expressed a desire to leave, but was reminded that leaving early would result in termination. At approximately 00:00, SCP-####-A was observed when D-37431 turned a blind corner. The entity swiped a clawed hand at the D-Class, who screamed, and immediately ran for the elevator. While sounds of pursuit can be heard, D-37431 was able to make it to the elevator unharmed. Once D-37431 got into the elevator, SCP-####-A stops at the doorway, reaches a clawed hand into the elevator, and presses the button for the first floor. D-37431 was able to escape the facility successfully.
Date: ██/██/2021
Personnel: On site security team
Task: Enter a storage unit
Result:
The security team decides on a unit on the 4th floor, unit 4-1034. At 09:15 they enter the facility. For the next 5 hours, they utilize a variety of tools to attempt to break into the unit. The team reports a failure to breach and that minimal progress has been made. They then request permission to use explosives. After some deliberation by the research staff, permission is granted. However, due to the potential anomalous nature of what's being stored within, only a small breach is permitted. A shaped charge is placed on the wall and triggered. Suddenly, the lights go out and a piercing shriek can be heard throughout the facility. The entire building shakes. Contact reports by the team reveal multiple instances of SCP-####-A appeared to attack the team. Within 5 minutes all members of the security team were dead. A second team was sent to recover what they could. By the time they arrived though, the lights had turned back on and the remains had already been absorbed into the surfaces of the building. A small chunk of the building was blown out where the explosives had been placed, but a full breach into the unit had not been achieved. Second team returned with the building chunk for analysis.
