Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX instances are to be held individually within standard enforced accommodation units, outfitted in accordance with the Foundation ‘beyond compliance’ ethical pledge. Staff are prohibited from referring to SCP-XXXX instances as zombies, or employing any related derogatory terminology in discussion of these individuals.

SCP-XXXX-A instances are to be held individually within anaerobic storage for infohazardous organic matter. These may be accessed for purposes of authorised research and controlled therapeutic usage only.

Each SCP-XXXX instance is to be exposed to their corresponding SCP-XXXX-A instance daily, as part of a therapeutic sapience reinforcement program. This is to be performed by trained Foundation aromatherapists, in the presence of armed guards. EN compliant nose plugs must be utilised by all attending staff for the full duration of these sessions. Impact assessment reports are to be completed quarterly. Where the criteria for direct patient feedback (self-assessment) are not present, behavioural observational analysis should be employed instead, considering sleep patterns, interactions with staff and environment, feeding habits, and, if applicable, play.

Any staff exposed to an SCP-XXXX-A instance are to be considered ideologically compromised with regard to the secure containment of the corresponding SCP-XXXX instance. Engagement in any research role related to this anomaly precludes engagement in active containment engineering, and vice-versa.

Efforts are to focus on the discovery of the anomalous causal agent, including a systematic study of the berries of plant species endemic to mountainous areas considered as holy by their respective populations. The alleged involvement of GOI ‘Marshall, Carter and Dark’ is to be investigated as a matter of priority.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the designation of any individual who has ingested the anomalous causal agent, produced an SCP-XXXX-A instance, and is suffering from the associated symptoms of impaired sapience. Note that any resemblance to the condition of acute hypermortification is superficial, with no necrosis of tissues or cessation of cardio-respiratory activity in this case.

SCP-XXXX-A is the designation for the faecal matter produced by an SCP-XXXX instance shortly following their ingestion of the anomalous causal agent. The toxicity of the causal agent is such that ingestion results in the traumatic separation of the animus sapiens from the physical tissues of the pancreas. The entire animus is subsequently expelled from the body along with the contents of the bowel, and remains present within the faecal matter.

Via a function of common synaesthetic capability, the human brain interprets any olfactory sensory input derived from SCP-XXXX-A instances as raw informational content. Those exposed to this odour demonstrate a reticence to communicate their experience in any form, however, it has been described as akin to a non-linguistic poetry, life changing in effect, with hedonic tone stated as encompassing a vast dynamic range over the course of the journey. SCP-XXXX-A instances have been demonstrated to differ drastically from one another in content, although exposure to any SCP-XXXX-A instance consistently results in feelings of unconditional positive regard toward the corresponding SCP-XXXX instance thereafter.

Exposure to their own corresponding SCP-XXXX-A instance is shown to be therapeutically beneficial for SCP-XXXX instances, and may even prove curative given time.
